INGREDIENTS:
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 3 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 boneless pork sirloin roast
- 8 of your favourite buns
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a Dutch oven, combine the first 6 ingredients (tomato sauce, onion, BBQ sauce, chili powder, cumin, cinnamon); add the pork. Spoon some of the sauce over the pork. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, until meat is tender (3-4 hours).
- Remove meat, shred with 2 forks. Return to pan and heat through. Spoon 1/2 cup of meat mixture onto each bun.
PULLED PORK TIPS AND TRICKS:
- The best cut of meat for pulled pork is the shoulder.
- The optimal temperature for pork is 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't overcook your pork!
- For added flavour and nutrition, try adding coleslaw to your sandwich.
